About Me

Hi, I’m Cassandra Jowett. I’m a 23-year-old writer, editor and journalist. I like to tell stories and help other people tell theirs, whether it’s putting their voices inside quotation marks or cleaning up their sentences.

Words are my passion. I’m a tough cookie. I try to laugh a lot, cry a lot and learn from it all. Life is hard, to be sure, but it’s so worth it.

I recently completed a Bachelor of Journalism at Ryerson University in Toronto, and I currently work as the editor of the TalentEgg’s publications, which include:

  • The Career Incubator – an online career magazine for Canadian college and university students and recent graduates
  • LAUNCH Magazine – an online lifestyle magazine for the same demographic
  • The Hatch – news and views on Canadian campus recruitment
  • From Class to Career – TalentEgg’s weekly column on The Globe and Mail’s GlobeCampus.ca which focuses on the school-to-work transition of Canadian post-secondary students
  • providing content for t.o.night’s weekly Careers & Education section

I’m a news junkie, a constant learner. I’m not happy unless I’m consuming some kind of media. I love the idea of newspapers (what journalist doesn’t?), but I’m watching them die a slow, painful death from the sidelines as I jump into online media.
