The City of Brampton is spending $500,000 in a bid to get noticed. A new economic development marketing campaign aimed at attracting international businesses will start to roll out in a few weeks. Although the budget is relatively small, economic development director Don Eastwood, who presented the details of the campaign to Brampton’s committee of council on Wednesday, said he hopes the campaign will have a big impact on the local economy: “We want people to know Brampton is still a good place to do business. The ad campaign is the first step in getting us noticed.” The campaign was developed by east coast advertising company m5 Marketing Communications, whose previous clients include General Motors and Health Canada, and will be made up of billboards, commercials on Canada’s national television stations, print ads in the United States and digital marketing.
